Help Refugees Walk into Winter

Boots for Winter campaign fundraiser

With the camps in northern France gone there are no real washing facilities, and refugees are prone to foot diseases, including trench-foot.

CamCRAG have banded together with other regional groups for the largest UK intergroup collaboration since the eviction … with the aim of raising £20,000 for 1,000 waterproof boots.

Spread the word, share, donate by clicking here.

The boots have been carefully sourced to get the best possible quality for price. We’re fundraising via Donate4Refugees, and the boots will be bought on behalf of all the groups by Chorleywood for Refugees. The boots will be given out to refugees in France and Belgium by Care4Calais, L’Auberge des Migrants and Help Refugees.

Groups so far include:
Chorleywood for Refugees, Calais People to People Solidarity, Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group (CamCRAG), Friends of Refugees for Bedfordshire, Herts for Refugees, Marlow Refugee Action Group, Side by Side Refugees and Together100.

  1. Hello,

I have about 6 children’s winter coats and similar number of trainers/school shoes, plus other clothing suitable for winter and in good condition. Would this be of any interest to take over to Calais?

    1. Hi Leonie, thanks for the offer but at the moment we are not collecting children’s clothes, as they always have too many for the number of young kids in calais. However we will definitely take any clothes or shoes which are for teenagers and could thus fit a small man. We usually work from Help Refugees’ needs list, which you can find here:

    2. Hi Leonie, contrary to what I said before we are now doing a brief collection of women’s and children’s clothes, just till 11 November, for the Dunkirk Women’s Centre who are apparently running low on supplies. You can either bring them to our donations drop in Histon on 11 November, or email to arrange a drop off before then. Apologies for the confusing messages!
