Consultation Evening

15th August 2019

7.30 to 9.30pm

Friends Meeting House, Jesus Lane, Cambridge CB5 8BA

The situation in Calais is very different to the one four years ago when CamCRAG began. Help Refugees have announced that they will handing over field operations in Calais to other groups in the near future (read their full statement here), so this seemed a good time to consult with our members, volunteers and other stakeholders on the future direction of the charity, and how we can continue to best help displaced people.

Refugee Community Kitchen will continue to operate in Calais through this coming winter (read their statement here), so CamCRAG convoys will continue to take volunteers.

We want your input on the nature of future convoys, whether we should be looking to engage in other volunteering opportunities, and which groups we should be supporting with direct funding.

All interested people are invited to Friends Meeting House, Jesus Lane, at 7.30pm on Thursday 15 August. Comments and suggestions from the meeting will be handed to the Trustees and Executive Committee for consideration, and a future strategy presented at the AGM in October.

A consultation document with up to date information on the current situation will be available before the meeting.
