Refugee Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities in Creative Practice Research

To commemorate National Refugee Week, Anglia Ruskin University is planning a one-day symposium to examine creative responses to the current refugee crisis in Europe and beyond.

Run in conjunction with ARU’s Migrant Studies Group, StoryLab and the university’s Refugees and Migration PhD Network, the event will feature a broad spectrum of creative practitioners and academic researchers involved in the growing field of refugee research.

It will invite theatre, film, multimedia, art and photography practitioners as well as research specialists to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of using creative practice methods to explore the politically and emotionally charged topic of the “refugee crisis”.
