The latest CamCRAG convoy has returned from Calais after a busy weekend in the warehouse organising aid for refugees nearby and in Paris.
14 people attended the convoy from Cambridge, many there for the first time, and they worked alongside our friends Herts for Refugees.
The convoy worked with Refugee Community Kitchen – cooking hot meals for distribution to those living rough around Calais – chopping and peeling mountains of vegetables. And in the warehouse sorting clothes, bedding and shoes – ensuring that all the items are suitable to distribute to refugees.
Our volunteers also helped with the reorganisation of the warehouse.
The convoy delivered 280 emergency food packs donated by people from Cambridge and Norfolk, along with blankets, sleeping bags, and other food donations.
