CamCRAG plans to turn 160 blankets

into 125 ponchos

Poncho

to send to refugees and other homeless people in Northern France this autumn.

This is a pilot project to create wearable ponchos from blankets, for those sleeping rough in Northern France, who are regularly moved on by the police and therefore need bedding and clothing that is easy to carry.

CamCRAG has already purchased the blankets, and now need people with a sewing machine and sewing skills.

We will be holding a sewing session on Saturday 14 October, 10am to 4pm, at Chesterton Methodist Church (Green End Road, CB4 1RW). We also need help on the day with setting up and cutting material.

If you can come along for a couple of hours, or all day, please email lara@camcrag.org.uk – if you can’t make it, but would like to help independently, do get in touch.
