A team of 20 volunteers (brilliant turnout!) made their way to Abbots Ripton on the afternoon of Monday 23rd August to help clear the site after the ‘We Out Here’ festival.
After a brief panic when the team were shown an empty car park, they found the campsite with plenty to salvage. We got about 115 tents (not checked yet but not obviously wrecked), over 30 sleeping bags, over 20 sleeping mats, and some random bits and pieces: spare tent poles and pegs, the odd pair of walking shoes, lots of discarded fancy dress, and a jewellery box with silver earrings in it (let’s hope someone contacts the festival organisers to reclaim it).
Thank you, everyone who helped with this very successful salvage operation!
