CamCRAG has donated £1,100 to The Free Shop in Lebanon to source appropriate winter clothing in the region for their shop.
Run by and for Syrian refugees, The Free Shop opened its doors last summer in the Bekaa valley, offering refugees the chance to shop with dignity, choosing their own clothes from rails and displays in an organised space.
CamCRAG began working with The Free Shop in the autumn, collecting and shipping quality clothing and shoes from the UK to the region.
There are more than 1.5 million Syrian refugees living in Lebanon, mostly in abject poverty. The Bekaa valley holds the largest number of registered refugees of any area of the country with 38%.
