This was definitely our best ceilidh yet!
It was a great night attended by over 200 people, all ready to dance their socks off to our ‘house’ band, The Jumping Beans. Caller Keith gave a masterclass in managing the dancing, keeping everyone skipping and reeling in the right direction. The buffet of home-made dishes was all eaten and thirsty dancers kept helpers very busy serving drinks. We estimate that we raised almost £2000 to support displaced people in Europe and beyond.
We are very grateful to the team at St Giles, The Jumping Beans and all the volunteers who helped with planning, publicity, cooking, setting up, clearing away and staffing. Thanks also to Grill House, Mill Road, for a very generous donation of delicious pizzas for the buffet and to the Castle Street Methodist Church for the use of their car park.
