Our big Refugee Week fundraising event this year celebrates the healing power of art, with a sale of donated pieces from over 70 local artists.
The theme for this year’s Refugee Week (20 to 26 June) is ‘healing’. Art, in all its forms, can play an important part in the healing process for those who have been forced to flee their homes, or faced other trauma.
CamCRAG’s arts fair on Saturday 25 June will be opened by LGBT+ advocate Lord Chris Smith, former Labour Arts Minister and currently Master of Pembroke College, which may be the first Cambridge College to achieve College of Sanctuary status.
The fair will also feature
> A community tapestry-making project for adults and children
> Sale of vintage clothes and refugee-made crafts
> Home made cakes, jams and refreshments
> Folk music from Jon Betmead and Tom Ling
If you would like to volunteer at the fair please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Cambridge City of Sanctuary will be producing a diary of events taking place elsewhere in the city during Refugee Week.
