We would like to thank everyone who visited the Locker Cafe over the past two Fridays and bought one or more of the crafts and gifts we had on sale. We sold over £700 of items over the two days!
We would like to thank Diana for organising this excellent event, and Jon Betmead and Tom Ling for playing their unique blend of folk, blues and jazz.
Thank you to Nick Skelton aka DJ Skunk for a fun and funky music night at the NCI Club last Friday. We raised over £300 for CamCRAG, as well as having a dance to music from around the world.
November's convoy was a cold one with lots of blue fingers in the Woodyard and the kitchen. Help Refugees has now handed over to Collective Aid, whose volunteers are mostly still based in the Auberge warehouse. Refugee Community Kitchen, Woodyard and Utopia56 continue to operate in Calais - so whether it was chopping onions or wood, or checking tents and donations, the CamCRAG convoy volunteers were kept very busy.
Volunteers at Utopia56 in Calais were delighted this morning to receive 238 ponchos from CamCRAG, arriving just in time as night time temperatures drop towards zero across northern Europe.
If you would like to follow the progress of the tents and sleeping bags from our summer festival salvage, the Hope and Aid convoy of four trucks is now travelling through Germany and posting regular updates online.
Thank you to everyone who came to CamCRAG's Annual General Meeting and Get Together last Thursday. We reviewed our successes of the past year, re-elected three trustees, heard harrowing first hand accounts of the current situation in Greece and France, and how the charity intends to respond to those challenges over the year ahead.
CamCRAG's annual report for 2018/19 is published today, detailing some of our activities over the past year. The report also includes the charity's accounts for the year from July 2018 to June 2019.
