Join SOS Children’s Villages UK to Walk a Mile and show solidarity with millions of child refugees worldwide who are fleeing violence, warfare and disaster.
Show child refugees they are welcome here, acknowledge their courage and stand up for their right to be reunited with their families.
The mile-long march through Cambridge is a great way for you to show your support for child refugees, and consider what it is like to be a young person fleeing for your life, leaving behind everything that is familiar, comforting and safe, and traveling thousands of miles to find a place to call home.
Meet at Parker’s Piece at 10.30am, where the march will begin with a short talk on the global refugee crisis by SOS Children’s Villages UK CEO Alison Wallace. Supporters will then march to Emmanuel United Reform Church, where there will be a talk by Cambridge MP Daniel Ziechner as part of the Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox.
